Governor Paterson states: “These animals are kept in stables that are too small, often they’re cold, they work long hours and they don’t have time off. That might sound like we’re talking about human beings, but like you and me, animals need time to rest. These horses are abused and really shouldn’t be trotting around in congested areas.”NYCLASS is pleased that the Governor is calling for the removal of horse carriages from New York City. As you know, NYCLASS proposes to take the horses off city streets by replacing them with electric vintage cars. Our highest priority is to ensure the well-being of every carriage horse and to support their peaceful retirement.
