Storytime. Oil 1.

We never would have believed our deaths would come from the cliffs above. From the dark rocky waters near the shore or the stormy seas we even expected...but not from the tales of old drunken sailors or the songs of the pirates bellowed in the streets. They were like the most beautiful dream and a fearsome nightmare combined into a creature that held little human resemblance besides female form they embodied...the tempting flesh. Their skin a perfect camouflage to the rocks and sea like many of the animals we encountered on our journeys. Their irresistible call echoing in our subconscious-luring us closer and closer to the shore-sealing off our very will to escape. They were neither exceptionally fast or strong but deliberate. Slow, methodical, calculating. Instinct...or perhaps evolution..regardless it had served them well.
