Woo! They're both looking very good. I like the almost cartoony/cell-shaded look of the leg. I'm assuming that it was done in illustrator. It reminds me of the concept art/illustrations they do for full-feature animations like the Pixar and Dreamworks movies.

My two-cent suggestion would be to never work on a white canvas, though. The first thing I do put my line-drawing on a new layer set to 'Multiply' and on a bottom layer throw-down some neutral colored background (like the beige on the sides of this 'comment' page). That will make things a lot less painful. But if you're already doing that, then nvrmnd. ;)
