Photos-Dia Ocho

We were at breakfast by 9 and on the road by 11 on our way back to Barcelona. I thought I overheard it was a holiday and the traffic headed towards the beaches seemed to confirm it. We however had no issues aside from trying to spot the speed radar cameras they use throughout Europe.
Before we went to return the car we stopped by the Camp Nou futbol stadium which was not exciting. The tour would have been 30 euros so we took this photo instead.
26 liters of petrol....28 EUROS! We only used a quarter of tank. A wake up call for our Christmas road trip across the UK.
SURPRISE! It was a holiday-perhaps the biggest in Catalonia. Unfortunately nobody who worked at Avis bothered to tell me they would be closed at the return time printed on my contract. We couldn't get an answer at any of the numbers on our forms so the hotel got a hold of someone at the Airport location that couldn't help us because she was at lunch. It was still too early to check in so we wandered around to find lunch.
2/3 of this was edible for vegetarians. It was a local chain restaurant with a lot of pig legs on the counter.
But surprisingly it was pretty good. Kurt loved his risotto-type dish and my food was pretty standard for grilled vegetables.
You can tell eating put us in a better mood. When you get petrol you can take these gloves to protect your hands-or just walk around taking pictures of yourselves wearing them.
Kurt charmed his way into a free spa experienced while I showered and got my bags organized. We had dinner at the restaurant MOO in the Omm (they have a rating of one Michelin Star). Our first round of little table tasters. Turns out they were not so vegetarian.
The look of anticipation. We both had the vegetarian menu with the wine pairing.
What happened in Spain....stays in Spain.I believe our server said, "more munchies". A fried corn stick.

Broccoli pesto cous cous and some sort of cabbage slaw.Tomato tar-tare with smoked mozzarella sorbet and greens. It changed my life.
A beet salad with mushrooms, berries, oranges, and some other stuff.
Some sort of roll.
Our least favorite dish-rice with tempeh and baby bok choy. It was good-but nothing special.
Dessert was a fruit and flower salad with sorbet served in an ice bowl.
The server then added a tea infusion and the temperature of the ice turned the tea to a gel. Like Magic!
As if we could eat more they then brought chocolates. I asked our server to recommend one and he recommended 4 so I obliged.
Our table companion.
Although the day was a bit frustrating it couldn't have ended better. Avis told us to return the car at the airport and the hotel was nice enough to allow us to park in front without charging the parking rate. Getting to the airport was a little tricky and perhaps was not the best relationship building experienced but we eventually we got it figured out and checked in and took the longest flight home ever. Adios Espana...t-estimo y te quiero!!!
