City Adventures.

I made an appointment Saturday to meet with an Elfa specialist at the container store to start my next project. We really needed more storage on our bookshelf and to get Kurt's records out of boxes and off the ground.
Here are the old shelves. We woke up a little after nine and had to shuffle to make it to our 10:00 appointment. However...
The Vespa died on the way. The engine completely seized up and quit. Surprise! The old engine had never given us a problem...a very unexpected but manageable detour.
We hopped into a cab and made it to the Container Store for our consultation. We placed our order and arranged home delivery and then we walked over to Home Depot to get some drill bits for the brick wall. After that we headed over to Time Warner, then we went back to Home Depot, and then walked back down to get the Vespa. We passed a cupcake shop on our journey and split a red velvet.
Here we are back at 10th and University to get our not-so-trusty steed...
and we walked....
..and walked..
..and walked...
...and walked...Actually it wasn't too bad, the pictures are for dramatic effect.
The "blueprints" for our project and instruction booklet.
Taking a hydration break while removing the old shelves.
This was a disaster. Between the mice, moving the tv, and displacing everything on the old shelves (while trying to assemble the new ones) we are lucky we didn't break more than we did.
Halfway there.
He is so good at this part.
Much better. Excellent job Kurt.
We also moved the TV to the other wall. I'm still waiting on my new desk so the far corner is a disaster area but one step at a time people.
