Where have I been? Where have you been?

Our little project turned into a nightmare. It started off simple enough.
Then it got troublesome.
Just a little more...
DOH! Rotted closet, rotted walls. This, however, we were not prepared for.
Original flooring.
The wall recessed in about 3 inches here with a beam that was covered by the top of the old closet. The fireplace is directly to the right behind the sheetrock so we're at a loss for why this space was like this.
Bobby and Alex came over Sunday for professional help.
Killer had to stay behind bars.
Measure twice-cut once.
Building out the frame.
Covering it with sheetrock creating a flush wall surface.
Bobby removed the rest of the wooden frame from our door and fixed the remaining wall.
Finished book-wall.
Finished doorframe.
Yes, I painted. And no one helped.
Bobby installing our Ikea shelf-which will never come out of the wall. Ever.
Exhaustion. Frustration. We have been overwhelmed by the amount of work and effort this turned out to be. Bobby came out 2 more times in order to finish and we have moved our furntiure from room to room and side to side to make this happen. It's been the longest week of my life.
