Preserving their famous taste.

I told Kurt the sink was leaking a week or so ago and he tightened the nuts and let it be.  Well I was organizing some of the space under there this morning and noticed my "just in case the sink leaks bowl" was halfway full.  So I took everything out and Kurt crawled under to discover that the problem was much more complicated than he originally thought.  I went to the hardware store to get the two pieces we needed which were 2 nuts and washers.  Kurt replaced the old with the new and went away and I started cleaning up and noticed it was still leaking. Kurt crawled back under and sees the 3rd nut doesn't look so great and removes the rest of the pipe.
It literally crumbled in his hands.
Inside the catch of the curve were 2 popsicle sticks and all kinds of nasty nasty things.
This guy took almost an hour to get off-stripped and corroded with no good way of leveraging the drain we had to get very creative.
This is what it should look like.  That old nut was at least 7 years old...at least.
New nut.  The pipe is the original.
Second new nut.
And both the new base pipes.  Kurt's plumbing skills were quite impressive.  A+
